About the RC Small Business Association
The Chamber’s subsidiary, the Renfrew County Small Business Association, plays a critical role in supporting newcomer entrepreneurs and addressing persistent labour shortages in quick service, hospitality, tourism, and retail sectors. These sectors are among the hardest hit by workforce instability.
This project will expand the Association’s capacity to:
- Connect employers with immigration programs and services for foreign workers
- Assist newcomers in navigating the regulatory and cultural landscape
- Offer networking, integration events, and business education
- Advocate for common-sense immigration policy that supports regional labour needs
With focused coordination, the Association will act as a hub for local employers and immigrant entrepreneurs alike, helping to build resilient, diverse, and community-rooted businesses.

Thrive360 Vision: To create a holistic community platform that blends the strengths of commerce, culture, and consciousness. Thrive360 is designed to help small business owners, newcomers, and local citizens engage in meaningful connection, cultural exchange, and inner growth — all while supporting economic development in Renfrew County. By connecting small business owners, cultural leaders, wellness practices, and local support systems, Thrive360 creates a space where we can grow not just profits, but people — building resilience, inclusion, and leadership from the inside out.
Purpose: Thrive360 aims to:
• Strengthen collaboration between businesses and cultural communities
• Support mental wellness and leadership through Heartfulness (HFN) practices
• Build a welcoming ecosystem for newcomers and local entrepreneurs
• Spark dialogue on inclusive economic growth and sustainable community values
Advocacy Efforts
The urgent need for 200–300 permanent residency approvals for foreign workers currently employed by local businesses in quick service, hospitality, retail and restaurant is a top priority for this group. These workers are critical to the sustainability of key service sectors across the region, and without immigration support, many businesses risk closure or severe disruption.
At the national level, our chamber is working in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and other chambers from rural and northern regions to lobby the federal government for an improved pathway to permanent residency for this service sector in these areas that are experiencing the same challenges we see in Renfrew County.
