Annual Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Gala

Lifetime Achievement Award to be Presented to Bob Sweet

The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the annual Business Excellence Awards Gala, set to take place on September 28th at the Normandy Officers’ Mess, Garrison Petawawa. This prestigious event will celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of businesses and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding performance, innovation, and leadership in our community.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to retired Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the business world. Bob Sweet has dedicated decades to fostering economic growth, and his commitment to community service has left an indelible mark on our region.

“We are honoured to recognize Mayor Bob Sweet with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Cyndi Mills, president of the Board of Directors. “Bob’s career is a testament to the power of dedication, innovation, and a passion for making a positive impact. His achievements inspire us all.”

The gala promises to be an evening of elegance and celebration, featuring Master of Ceremonies Kyle Robinson of 104.9 MyFM, the red carpet, a gourmet dinner, entertainment, and remarks from respected business leaders.  Awards will be presented in several categories, including Startup Superstar, Community Impact, Solopreneur and the Visionary Award.

The Chamber of Commerce is once again taking a fun, fair and unbiased approach to the awards and judging process using Awardify: a Canadian-owned award management platform.  “In order to ensure all businesses are viewed on their own merits,” said Kelly Hollihan, the Chamber’s executive director, “each member can tell us the story of their business, highlighting their accomplishments and their work in the community, and adding photos and testimonials for our panel of judges from chambers of commerce across Canada to score.”

The event will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members for an evening of networking and recognition. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate the success stories that drive our economy forward and contribute to the vitality of our community.

The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the business leaders who make a difference in our community. Join us in honoring excellence and achievement at this year’s gala.
